    Description

The American Woman's Food Stretcher Cook Book - Make Your Ration Points Go Twice as Far was edited by Ruth Berozheimer who at this time was the Director of the Culinary Arts Institute.
The format of this booklet is menu based so there is variety of food for the family, balanced nutrition and maximum use of points.  This booklet is a great reference, one of the most informative from this time.  Recipes are varied and many could be used today. Yes you have the Tongue Rolls and Stuffed Heart recipes you would expect, but you also have Blackberry Pudding, Sausage and Squash and Cranberry Honey Milk drink.
An interesting part of the booklet is how to make a Fireless cooker which is a home-made box using radient heat to save energy in cooking.
