The poster is in excellent condition with no creases, tears, holes or markings. It will be shipped rolled in a new shipping tube
Printed on white index stock and measures approximately 11” x 21“
There are three (3) distinctly different varieties of this poster, all which predate the concert itself.
The Type 1 original carries the notation “©B. GRAHM (sic) 67” in the lower right corner.
The Type 2 original (this poster) carries the notation “©B. GRAHAM 67” in the lower right corner. In this case the “A” has been scratched into the plate between the “H” and the “M.” See the very small “A” scratched between the “H” and “M” in the photo
here.
The Type 3 original carries the notation “B. GRAHAM 67” in the lower right corner and “KELLY” has been scratched into the plate in the lower right corner of the inner image of the inner image, directly above the “s” in “Collectors.”
Buffalo Springfield was the main feature in the pre-Christmas 1967 concert, advertised on a poster that studiously ignored familiar Christmas tones. Alton Kelley collaborated with Stanley Mouse early in their careers and usually chose the photographs and arranged the collage while Mouse did the graphics.
This is a rare Fillmore East poster treasure. These type 2 posters are extremely hard to find, especially in this excellent condition.
