Description

This coin celebrates the Reshetylivka carpet-making style – Ukrainian heritage from Poltava oblast. The Reshetylivka carpet-making style is characterized by special stylized floral motifs that look like broken branches with flowers and leaves. Weaving, carpet-making and embroidery experts from Reshetylivka rose to national fame in the late 19th century. Reshetylivka floral motif-based carpet-making traditions – a treasure trove of Ukrainian folk art – were added to the National List of Ukraine’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2017.
