This is an ORIGINAL/FIRST print poster (approx. 14" x 22", and printed prior to the shows) that was used to promote a series of shows at the historic Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. These shows took place August 16-18, 1968, and featured The Drifters, Bill Haley & The Comets & Flamin' Groovies. The classic sixties image, featuring SF underground radio icon Tom Donahue, was designed by George Hunter & Jerry Wainwright, and is the 133rd image in the Family Dog series. This beautiful poster has been very carefully preserved for over fifty years, and remains in EXCELLENT/FLAWLESS condition.
