This wonderful, rare children's novelty book was published in 1946 by Whitehall! It is unused, and especially scarce in this condition!
The book is titled "Triple Thrill Coloring Birds". It has a story that rhymes with each picture. The front piece is a cardboard sleeve that contains a wheel that shows a picture of a bird on the front, with the name. As the wheel is turned a new bird and name appear in the window. The interior of the wheel shows the back of the wheel - there is a crow with a fox, and every time the wheel is turned, there is a new view of the crow's head and foxes head, with a new part of the story, written in the form of a poem.
Across from the sleeve with the wheel is a coloring book with pictures of birds. The last page of the coloring book is part of a cardboard back sheet that mirrors the last page of the coloring book. It is meant to show the colors that can be used - copied - for the coloring book.
The book is a creative use of cardboard and paper - a type of toy that was made popular in the 1940's, since raw materials were scarce, due to the WWII effort. The toy is large, measuring 12" by 9", with the coloring book portion measuring 6" by 9". The first page of the coloring book is a sleeve that holds the wheel.
It is really a great piece showing ALL kinds of birds - a great collectible "bird" toy! The birds included a Hummingbird, Flycatcher, Scarlet Tanager, Goldfinch, Robin, Grosbeak,
The book is unused - all the coloring pages are uncolored, and the book is bright and clean. The book is charming! The cardboard is slightly fragile, with bumped corners.

I hate adding more garbage to the environment; if you receive a box from me that has been used before, I am "recycling". I will make sure it's sturdy and the item well packaged. I will ensure your item will arrive in good condition, but the box may not be pretty (or it might be - I have to buy boxes, as well). All shipping within the US is free to you. All my packages are tracked, but if for some reason you don't receive your item or it arrives broken, I will refund your money.
