This item was acquired during the Bell family estate/tag sale held at the 1890 Britten-Bell House in Windsor, NC during July 2022. The family library was built by several individuals spanning 3+ generations and contained thousands of vintage and antique books. One member, Mr. Holley Mack Bell Jr., was a journalist and historian who served on the board of directors for Historic Hope Plantation, an official NC Historic Site in Bertie County. He also served his country as both civilian and soldier during WWII; he later became a Foreign Service Officer who was posted to Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
